L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, Bangkok
This may have to be the best meal I have ever had in BKK… so beautiful, so memorable and so filling! L’Atelier is a michi-star restaurant but it’s got a nice twist. Robuchon literally lets his chefs go to play and have a bit of fun! They get super creative and it’s marvelous to just sit and watch them at work.
The restaurant is all noir & rouge, so very fitting for moi! Seating at the bar, not quite the chef’s table was super as the kitchen is completely open and you get front row seats to watch the magic and all the chefs in action! I am in awe at their skill, speed and the detail in perfecting every dish!
Service is perfect, food is divine and as mentioned decor is absolutely chic! There is nothing I could fault the team for, service is A+++, every detail is taken care of . Staff are super attentive and know every dish back to front as well as all the wines and cocktails! Everything is perfect from the moment those lift doors open.
The bread basket is a work of art… sorry guys no pics on that.. but the other dishes I got have all got a nice happy snap! Menu options are great, you do not need to break the bank and do a dégustation. You can choose the number of dishes / courses you would like!
I ordered a cocktail to start 3 dishes and of course a dessert (nom nom nom)! But really 2 dishes and a dessert really would have sufficed. And then of course had a tea and a dessert wine to finish of… *burrrrrpppppp**** and then there was of course petit-four and a slice of dessert on the house toooooo… Now, you wonder why I waddled out and needed to be rolled back into the lift.
Dessert Desserttttttttt……….
I dined solo on a Sunday Night as everyone else had flown out earlier that day. Booking are easily made via phone, by your hotel concierge. Location is a bit hard to find, even with the taxi driver! There is an amazing set lunch menu that you can try too, shame I didn’t have enough time to slot it in or the stomach! The lunch menu options is also available globally at other locations too.
A little tip…. make room for dessert!
Tip 2, there is a gorgeous deli downstairs so you can also do a bit of a shopping trip and stock up on some amazing frommage and chacuterrie! ♥
